As a part of my ongoing investigation of female identity, I am current creating two new, complimentary works under the overarching title “The Virgin-Slut Story.”

“She’s Wearing White” will be a performance art installation that investigates purity, ideal femininity, and sexual role playing through the lens of the Virgin-Bride’s wedding night. Bedding ceremonies, BDSM culture and my own wedding planning will serve as source material. This installation will premiere in 2014.

“Feefer Rising” will be a full-length, collaboratively created, devised theatre piece, which will develop over the year and culminate in a fully staged production. This story will explore a girl’s burgeoning sexuality in a culture of over-sexualization of adolescents. The Steubenville Rape Case, pop culture and personal narratives will inspire this project. A portion of this project was developed for Cleveland Public Theatre's Leap/Conceive works-in-progress showing in 2013.

The Creative Workforce Fellowship is a program of the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture. The Fellowship program is supported by the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture.
